DESCRIPTION:
Have you ever wondered why this town of Middelburg, is actually called Middelburg? Middelburg is a large farming and industrial town in Mpumalanga, and it is known as the “Stainless Steel Capital of Africa.” Middelburg was established as Nasareth, in 1864 by the Voortrekkers on the banks of the Klein Olifants River. The name was changed in 1872 to Middelburg to mark its situation midway between Pretoria and Lydenburg.
No matter from which direction you come, be it Limpopo, Gauteng, North West, Mpumalanga or even Swaziland and Mozambique … Middelburg is halfway from any direction!
