Nestled in the picturesque town of White River, the Karula Hotel is an AA award winning hotel and is one of the most affordable full-service hotels in the Lowveld. Karula offers comfortable accommodation as a base to explore the surrounding areas, as a retreat to take time out, or as a stop-over for the travelling businessman. Step inside the Karula and you are greeted with “Olde Worlde Charm” where you are as comfortable as you would be at home.
Perfectly situated in the heart of the beautiful sub tropical Mpumalanga Lowveld, Karula is within easy reach of many places of historic interest such as the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window, Mac Mac Waterfalls and the quaint old mining town of Pilgrim's Rest. The majestic scenic drives confirm what we have always known about the Mpumalanga province, a piece of heaven. Karula is a mere 32 km from the Kruger National Park. We are 12 km from Nelspruit / Kruger International Airport and 8km from the White River Golf Club.
The Karula Hotel has been under the personal management of the Richardson Family for the past 30 years, and our team of warm caring staff are ready to welcome you, since Hospitality is our Specialty.
Accommodation
This truly “Home from Home” style hotel offers comfortable accommodation for both the holiday maker and businessman alike. All 47 bedrooms are situated in magnificent garden surroundings, each with its own private bathroom, telephone and TV with limited DSTV and tea and coffee making facilities. Air conditioning/heating is available in the Deluxe category, while Standard rooms all have overhead fans.
Breakfast and Dining
Your day begins with a full English breakfast in our cosy restaurant. To round off the day, our chef will delight and surprise you with a delicious dinner in the table d’hôte tradition.
Sundowners are served on the terrace during summer or in front of a roaring log fire in the pub during winter. Our pub has a friendly atmosphere where you can meet your charming hosts and enjoy cocktails with friends.
Conference Facilities
Our conference facilities are modern and fully air-conditioned. We can accommodate up to 55 delegates. The hotel’s excellent facilities and attention to detail also make Karula the ideal conference venue.
Recreational Facilities
Sporting facilities on the premises include swimming, tennis and a billiard room. Bowls, golf, squash, fishing and other leisure activities are available nearby.
