DESCRIPTION:
Centrally situated between Nelspruit (60km), Malelane (40km) and Barberton (40km) on the R38 between Barberton and Kaapmuiden and 20km from the Malelane tollgate, La Luna is the ideal ‘home base’ to explore the Kruger National Park and the Lowveld and makes the perfect stop over before going into the Kruger National Park or through to the beaches of Mozambique.
La Luna maintains a quiet and undisturbed atmosphere ideal for a tranquil and relaxing getaway on a working farm. We are 30 minutes from the Kruger International Airport.
Accommodation
We offer various types of overnight accommodation with delicious home cooked meals.
Backpacker Facilities
Overnight in the backpacker army tent for a real soldier retreat. Ideal for groups, students, school and church groups. Team building facilities in our army camp can accommodate up to 40 guests army style for a soldier experience. Three army tents sleep eight each and one large tent sleeps 16. We supply linen but you will need to bring your own towels.
The army camp has a boma area and an outside sink however you will need to supply your own cooking utensils.
There is a communal ablution block with a separate area for ladies and men. Each black has five showers (with no roof) for a veld experience.
Safari Tent Accommodation
Stare, feel, sense, breath the fresh air and relax to the scenic views from one of the two safari tents with a thatch roof and wooden floor. Feel like camping without the hassle of pitching a tent.
The tents are furnished inside with a double bed and two single beds. There is a bar fridge, a two plate stove and a kitchen wash basin. Sit down and enjoy your meals at the dining room table and relax on the couch. Enjoy sundowners on the deck overlooking the valley.
Linen is supplied but you will need to bring your own towels. There is a communal ablution block for the two tents with four showers (no roof for veld experience). The ladies and men ablution blocks are separate.
Bed and Breakfast Units
Enjoy cosy bed and breakfast rooms in the main house for those who wish to feel at home away from home. The main bedroom has an en-suite full bathroom and two bedrooms share a full bathroom with large windows overlooking the valley.
Dining
Breakfast can be enjoyed in the dining area and supper on the verandah. Meals must be booked one day in advance.
Weddings and Conferences
Our chapel has real church benches and stained glass windows. The Chapel is built from stones collected on the farm and the lapa and chapel can accommodate up to 80 guests for weddings and conferences.
We have a projector and screen available on request. We host birthdays, weddings, conferences, team building and training.
Activities and Attractions
Things to do include hiking, picnics at the dam, swimming pool, darts, pool table, bird watching or watch TV in the lounge.
