Attractions & Activities
At the lodges, wake to a chorus of birds and enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the spacious verandahs. Watch in amusement as the warthogs get down on their knees to nibble the grass and admire the beauty of the zebra, each with its unique set of stripes. Impala, zebra, warthogs, monkeys, baboons, kudu and giraffe have all been spotted around the lodges. As they say in Marloth, you don’t need to go looking for animals, the animals come to you.
After breakfast, take a drive down to the river and see if you can spot some of the big 5. Having marvelled at the beauty of nature, come home and cool off in the thatched splash pool with a view into the bush. Alternatively, enjoy a cold beer or a refreshing cup of tea in one of the comfortably furnished bomas.
For those needing a siesta, retire to the comfort of an air-conditioned bedroom for a quick snooze or be lulled to sleep with a good book on the hammock. Make sure you get there first! Smart, our resident caretaker tells us that the monkeys take turns swinging each other in the hammocks. Smart is an integral part of the Marloth Kruger Lodges experience and he is highly commended by our guests for his friendliness and helpfulness. He is available to service the lodges at an additional fee.
In the evening, conclude a memorable day with a braai and let the beauty of the African sky work its magic on you. You will leave the lodges feeling relaxed and rejuvenated feeling that your stay was too short and that it’s time to start planning your next trip.
