DESCRIPTION:
PoortCity Self-Catering Lodge is tucked away in the valleys of the Crocodile River Gorge just 20km east of Nelspruit. This picturesque gorge was also formerly known as the “Poort”, which means portal. In earlier years travellers and traders alike used this portal as a gateway to the Mozambican harbours. In those days PoortCity was the last stop-over before taking on the final stretch of the treacherous path to Mozambique.
With time and the development of national roads all this beauty has now become accessible to all. Today PoortCity is situated close to the N4 highway which is still the main access road to Mozambique.
PoortCity forms part of the Croc River Mountain Conservancy which aims at protecting and preserving this wonderfully unique piece of natural environment. This area is also home to an array of recreational activities like hiking trails, mountain bike trails, birding hotspots, fishing, horse riding and more.
Self Catering Accommodation
Traditional Cape-Dutch style units will give the self-catering connoisseur the ideal comfort from which to explore the surrounding area. The holiday house is the ideal solution for family holidays or bigger groups. This three bedroom house is fully furnished and equipped for up to 8 people and brags with a big private social area, two patios, private garden and lots more.
