DESCRIPTION:

Discover a peaceful valley between mountains at the edge of the escarpment of the misty Drakensberg Mountains. Surrounded by indigenous forests and lakes lies Valley of the Rainbow. The Estate is in a Malaria-Bilharzia free area with a mild climate and is conveniently located as an overnight stop to the Kruger National Park and the lowveld region.

Companies and groups will find Valley of the Rainbow the perfect venue for strategic planning sessions, small conferences, hosting of clients and team building.

Valley of the Rainbow offers dinner, bed & breakfast accommodation in luxury Suites in the Manor House, or self catering accommodation in the Country House or luxury serviced Tented Chalets.

THE MANOR HOUSE


Each of our 5 luxury Suites consist of a double bedroom with a comfortable lounge area and a well appointed en-suite bathroom. Spectacular views of landscaped gardens, forests, mountains and lakes can be enjoyed.

DINING:
The Restaurant offers a superb menu, South African cuisine with international International presentation and standards. An excellent South African Vintage wine list compliments the food beautifully.

FACILITIES:
Guests have access to a spacious lounge with open fireplace for winter, bar and dining room with fireplace, library and TV room. The deck overlooks a river running through the valley, as setting designed for relaxed sundowners. We regret we do not accept children under the age of 12 in the Manor House.

COUNTRY HOUSE


The Country House is decorated in a classic country style and offers five luxurious double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms and access to the veranda. From the veranda guests have a magnificent view over the lakes in the valley with the mountain and indigenous forests complementing the view.

With an open plan lounge, dining room and TV room the Country House is ideally suited for families, friends and corporate groups.

TENTED CHALETS


For the outdoor minded, nature can be experienced in luxury serviced Tent Chalet's Each Tent Chalet is situated in an indigenous forest overlooking one of the lakes in the valley. The Chalet's are permanently fixed on wooden decks and have en-suite bathrooms, electricity and a front seating deck. The Chalet's are hidden between indigenous trees for complete privacy.

ACTIVITIES


Guests can participate in organized outdoor activities including fly-fishing in the river and lakes for the elusive rainbow and brown trout, shooting, horse riding and canoeing.

Non-fishing guests will appreciate the tranquility and natural beauty of the setting. The mountains invite guests to go wandering along the walking trails on which one can expect to find a variety of small game including grey duiker, Steenbuck, Grey Reebok and vervet monkey, over 200 species of birds and abundance of wild flowers and plants. Fishing, Boat riding, Horse Riding, Walking Trails, Absailing and Clay pigeon shooting.

ENVIRONMENT


Valley of the Rainbow nestles in a secluded valley between the mountains near Dullstroom, Mpumalanga, approximately 2½ hours drive from Johannesburg/Pretoria. The venue is ideally situated for short outings and day trips.

Guided historical tours to Mapoch's Caves, cultural tours to Boshebelo Ndebele Cultural Village and birding tours to the Verloren Vallei Nature Conservancy, to see the nearly extinct blue crane, can be arranged. Valley of the Rainbow is a short drive from Dullstroom, the picturesque fly-fishing village with a variety of shops and restaurants.

Day trips can be planned to visit Mpumalanga's famous panoramic sights such as Bourke's Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon, God's Window and Pilgrim's Rest.
